SUNamp thermal storage

Ensure access to instant hot water and be energy efficient and eco-friendly at the same time. Sunamp heat batteries are energy-saving thermal stores that deliver heating or cooling reliably, safely and efficiently.

Sunamp Thermal Storage Unit

Sunamp provides leading thermal energy storage technologies

When it comes to hot water systems, individuals typically seek comfort and convenience. A system that delivers readily available hot water without breaking the bank and, ideally, one that doesn't take up excessive storage space.

Sunamp's Thermino heat batteries have become the preferred choice for many environmentally conscious homeowners and landlords. These thermal batteries charge from reneweable energy sources such as
air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and photovoltaics (PV), as well as electricity from the grid. This means all our customers can make better use of renewables and in turn, benefit from improved energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

Pioneering since 2005 Sunamps' innovative heat battery storage technology offers a host of benefits ranging from:

Carbon Emissions Reduction: Thermino heat batteries align with the goal of lowering carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly living environment.

Gas Reduction or Elimination: They facilitate the reduction or elimination of gas consumption, reducing your environmental impact and energy bills.

Cost Savings: Sunamp Thermino units help homeowners save on annual maintenance costs, as they do not require mandatory maintenance, resulting in additional financial savings.

Installer-friendly: Installation is more simpler than traditional hot water cylinders, offering greater flexibility to homeowners as they can be installed into smaller spaces within the home.

Installation and Maintenance:

Sunamps fourth-generation heat batteries for hot water maximise the use of renewable energy and can be charged by air-source heat pumps, ground-source heat pumps, photovoltaics (PV), grid electricity and boilers.Ideal for retrofitting to existing hot water systems as well as specifying for use in new build projects. Their sleek, super-compact design means they look good in any home and free-up valuable storage space.

They are up to four times smaller than the equivalent hot water tank because they are filled with our energy-dense phase change material, Plentigrade. This means that heat pump systems can be installed where otherwise they wouldn’t fit, for example.

Commonly asked Thermal storage questions

Can a heat pump be combined with a sunamp heat battery?

Yes. Specific models in the Sunamp Thermino and UniQ battery ranges are compatible with heat pumps from Daikin, Samsung and Vaillant.

Sunamp have tested the ability of these heat pumps to meet the flow temperature requirements of the heat battery (63-65 degrees Celsius).

I live in an area with hard water. Can I use a sunamp thermal battery?

Certainly, we highly recommend the use of a water conditioner, such as the HS38, to effectively control limescale levels in the water. This measure is essential to ensure that the limescale content remains below 150 parts per million (ppm) in order to maintain the optimal functioning of your heat battery. Whether you have a smaller or larger heat battery, the use of a water conditioner is a valuable step to help prolong its lifespan and maintain its efficiency
